Finally, Netherlands knocked off Brazil from the World Cup quarterfinals in a dramatic match. Brazil scored in the first ten minutes by Robinho, and they’ve been in control of the ball mostly the whole first half. In the second half, Netherlands were a different team, they possessed the ball most of the second half, they were in control and more stable than the Brazilians who were tensed. Felipe Melo scored an own goal from a Wesley Sneijder’s long pass deep in the box in 55′. Wesley Sneijder scored again Netherlands’ second goal with a header in the 68′.
FYI, after the match Sneijder revealed that his winning goal was the first header he has scored during his career! He picked a good moment to do so.
Hup Sneijder Hup! Hup Holland Hup!
