Barcelona president Joan Laporta has assured fans that the club will land Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Inter.
The Swede’s transfer, believed to be around the region of €36 million in cash and Samuel Eto’o as makeweight, is still locked in the negotiation stage, and the deal could depend heavily on whether or not the Cameroonian accepts terms with the Nerazzurri.
However, Laporta has revealed that ‘Ibra’ will be on his way to the Camp Nou regardless of what happens with Eto’o.
“I think that if Samuel decides to join Inter, he will be going to one of the best teams in the world,” he was quoted by AS.
“The only thing that remains is for the club to reach an agreement with the player. The two parties are negotiating the conditions, just as we are with Ibrahimovic.
“In any case, whether or not Eto’o stays or goes, Ibrahiomovic will be coming to Barcelona.”
The Camp Nou chief then went on to thank David Villa following the collapse of the deal to lure him away from Valencia.
“We are very grateful to him because he did everything possible to join Barcelona,” he acknowledged.
“We made a significant offer for him to Valencia but, unfortunately, they did not accept it.”
As things stand on the Ibrahimovic front, it is reported that both Inter and Barca have agreed terms, but both players are still busy discussing their wage demands with their respective future employers.
